IntroductionThe founding principle of our gospel is agency—free will. The two great commandments require love of God and of man. Is it imperative then, that these principles form the foundation of our teaching philosophy? What are the implications of such a philosophy? Does it change the way we perceive student potential and performance? Does it change the way we deal with behavioral and motivational issues? Does it change the way we set up learning groups and conduct learning activities? In the following webquest, you are invited to read articles about teaching with the spirit and with love written by scholars and philosophers both in and out of the church. You will then be asked to share your own ideas about how we can invite the spirit, demonstrate love, provide agency and promote moral and ethical behavior in the classroom. |
