Theories of Development

Grade-Level Lesson Plan

Objective: This lesson plan is used to demonstrate principles of developmental theories including assimilation/accommodation and moral development

Implementation: This lesson plan helps students to understand that though other people are different from us, we are the same in many ways. Begin by using the manipulative of an orange to explore similarities and differences. Then talk about how people also have similarities and differences and play the guessing game. The story, Crow Boy, will help students to understand that even though Chibi is different from the other children, he still wants to be loved. It will encourage moral development.

Lesson Plan: Do we all look alike?
