Journal Article Discussions  

 

At the beginning of the semester you will be assigned to a journal article discussion group. As part of this group, you will participate in five discussions over the course of the semester.

For one of the discussions, you will sign up to play the role of specialist/ discussion leader. Basically, you will be responsible for "teaching" your peers about the article.

Discussion Leader Role

1. The week before the scheduled discussion, read the journal article/s you chose and write three higher level thinking questions about the article/s (See Format) .

2. On your assigned day, summarize the article/s for your group (about 15 min) and lead a discussion with your group (for 5-10 min.) using your three questions as prompts for the discussion.

3. Post the results of your discussion.

 

Posting Instructions:
After your discussion, post a copy of your questions and 1-2 paragraphs summarizing your group's discussion on the Discussion Board.
